Turn your Winter Blues turn to Winter Splendor

 
 
Winter Blues are easily found this time of year...To combat my own winter blues I bundled up and took an adventure out into the elements to take pictures of the fresh snow that had just 
blanketed the earth.  I love what I saw and was able to capture!! This time out in nature taking in the exquisite masterpiece our God has created has for sure helped me to beat a little bit of my winter blues.

My new blog

I am so excited about my new blog! I have to first of all say I am not a blogger! I have had a blog for over a year and have posted on it like 4 times! I am very aware that in our very computer literate generation a blog is pretty important to any buisness especially a photography buisness. Also very well aware that I can't do everything on my own I called on the help of a new friend I met last week Laura Braun. She just so happens to be an amazing photographer and designs her own photography blog. Her blog is http://studio-lb.com/blog/. She came to my studio today and we spent 3 hours working on my blog! She is amazingly patient with me. In trying to figure out how to personalize my blog and make it look up to both of our standards,we learned a lot.... I know I did for sure! I think its a start to a beautiful friendship:) Thanks a ton Laura you Rock sister! She has also generously offered to crochet me some baby pods for shoots I am so excited so be looking for those!

Fascinators

I did a shoot downtown Rapid City yesterday for a great friend of mine. Shawn Wilson owns Shaviq Design downtown. She recently started designing these amazing hats using everyday items such as  silk, buttons, lace, feathers and any other treasure she has lying around. I had the privelage of photographing a model wearing her amazing creations. You can see the rest of the images on her facebook page.

I met Jill and her son at Storybook Island, its such a great place to do a shoot especially for a little boy that is full of energy. We had a blast and the weather was great. I love natural light photography and using the natural elements around you to get a great shot.

Another fun Senior portrait photo session

Carlee is a senior at Central High School here in Rapid city, she is not only beautiful outside but inside as well. We had a great time and she was so natural in front of the camera.

Meet Olivia Derrek

Olivia's senior portrait session was so much fun! She is so stunning and has a fantastic personality. She had such fun ideas as you can see with the prom dress! Loved that idea.

Really fun shoot with a cutie pie

 I had so much fun with this little guy, He was 2 and full of energy, we did a few 
shots in the studio but spent most our time outside where he just ran around and had a ball, I just followed and snapped.
